I've collected lots of waveforms over the years, and lately I've been going through them, cleaning up the sound and making SFZ instruments out of them. Figured I'd share the results. Right now I'm doing electric basses.

In the Fretless bass instrument, when I play D-2 (-4 being the lowest and +4 being the highest in my MPK25), the note sounded very different from the rest of the instrument. I am thinking around 150Hz but I could be wrong. It just sounded so overpowered compared to C, D-flat, D-sharp, and E.

what is the license for your instruments? I had a look into the Ibanez Pick and Finger and there were no textfiles or any author information in the sfz.

If you are the author and you have the legal right to decide one maybe you should use this open source one I wrote about some days ago:

If you compiled them from freebies or unknown sources you should make that clear in a short README in each of the zips and probably in the sfz files themselves. At least include your contact information.

I am also in the process of building a sample instrument repository with open source licensed instruments. If your license and contact information is in there I would be able to mirror them there.

I got the Ibanez from http://www.turtlesounds.net which appears to be the creator. There's no copyright nor licensing specified. Really nice bass, but only 1 octave, and short waveforms. I looped the waves to add sustain, and interpolated waves to extend range. Also remapped notes per the General MIDI standard.

Can't remember where I got the other stuff. A lot of stuff came from FindSounds.

MSLP has a license. The Ibanez never had a license, and neither did the wurly. Both were offered as freebies via the KVR forums by the authors, who presumably want folks to use/distribute them.

Licensed or not these must be taking an enormous amount of time and effort, even just combing through your waveforms to create them would be time consuming. Thanks VERY much for making these and sharing them.

Here's an accordion. The license forbids redistribution of the waveforms, so here's what you do:

1) Go to the web page at http://sonimusicae.free.fr/diato-en.html and download the diato.sf2 soundfont (not the kontakt2 version). The file is compressed with sfark, so you'll need to deal with that crap first. You can use my sfark utility.

2) Create a new folder on your desktop.

2) Open the diato.sf2 soundfont with the Swami program.

3) Look at the waveforms listed under "Samples". Highlight (select) all the waves whose name begins with "j2". You can do this by clicking on the first j2 wave. Then hold the Shift and Down Arrow keys until the last j2 wave is highlighted.

4) Move the mouse over a highlighted name and click the right mouse button to popup Swami's menu. Select "Export samples" and choose that new folder on your desktop.

5) Download http://wikisend.com/download/723690/accordion.tar and extract the contents of the archive to the same dir where you exported the waveforms.

6) Doubleclick on the ren bash script. You now have an accordion sfz. You can delete the sfark, sf2, and ren files.
