Guitar to MIDI Synthesizer

Post by hdr »

I am looking for a plugin to convert my guitar signal to MIDI or directly to another instruments sound. Like this:

Do you know any similar Linux plugin.

I don't have a bass guitar but I would like to record a bass track. So it would be cool to convert my guitar signal to a bass guitar sound. Also other instruments would be cool, like piano or trumpet.

There is also Rakarrack which can convert audio signal to MIDI signal. http://rakarrack.sourceforge.net/

Äh, nope, the GxTuner which convert audio to midi is the one which comes with guitarix as LV2 plugin, and, it is just monophonic. And, it must be consider as a experimental feature. In no way it is able to produce any usable audio2midi conversation. (I've written it) The one from github is a jack standalone app, and is more aim to microtonal tunings (I've written it as well)

The very same could be said to the one comes with Rakarrack, except that this one is not by me, but, it use the same underling technical construction, which isn't capable to really convert audio to midi.

I'm not aware of any linux software being able to do so, and that include any aubio tools I ever checked out. As soon as you start to use FFT to analyse frequency's, you are lost in time.

You may be able to do that by intelligence EQing.
On the road again.

If I try to load this plugin to ardour an error occurs:
[ERROR]: LV2: Failed to instantiate plugin file:///home/olush/.lv2/GxTuner.lv2/GxTuner.ttl

The mistake tells me nothing. I use Carla for gxtuner.
Yeah the note recognition is not necessarily super as tramp wrote, but I find it musically useful.
