Hi all,
I'm very happy I found you and please excuse me since I know what I'm going to post is covered in some basic tutorials, but I just couldn't make stuff work.
So: I'm trying to make a simple drumkit for DrumGizmo, just to get the general idea of this plugin. I've downloaded the free samples from Judd Madden (http://juddmadden.com/drum-samples.html) and I'm trying to manually write the XML files.
Mostly, I'm following this tutorial: https://www.onikudaki.net/blog/archives/156 and looking at the sources of the kits that are available.
But apparently, I'm doing something wrong, as I get no sound in Mixbus when loading the kit.
If any of you has the time to get me started, i.e. show me how I should be writing the XML files or if you can have a look at what I've written so far, I would be very helpful. Here's the folder with the samples and the XMLs I tried to create: https://cloud.adrianmanea.xyz/index.php ... ApwAe5GKL9
My understanding is this:
- create a folder "Kick" that holds the WAV samples;
- inside, create a Kick.xml file that links to the sample files and declare the channel to be 1;
- repeat for the rest of the instruments;
- create a kit.xml file which declares the channels (as named in the individual XMLs above) and put the instruments defined above to input and output to that channel.
Additionally, I declared some instruments to be "main", as there aren't really any bleed microphones in this kit.
Thank you very much for your time!

Do you get Mixbus to make sounds if you load one of the kits available through DrumGizmo?

I can't help you, but you might help from the developers if you post it in the drumgizmo section of the forum (a subforum of "Samplers and Samples").

No, I'm just getting the reddish peaking indicator of MIDI activity, but no sound.12strings2hands wrote:Do you get Mixbus to make sounds if you load one of the kits available through DrumGizmo?
Great, thanks. I somehow missed that dedicated section. And it's right there at the top... sorry.finotti wrote:I can't help you, but you might help from the developers if you post it in the drumgizmo section of the forum (a subforum of "Samplers and Samples").
Yes, but somehow, I'm configuring it wrong. Even after watching Bent Bisballe Nyeng's video at Sonoj, I can't make even a simple kit with just a snare, for example.luciorgomes wrote:Have you tried DGedit?

I'll do my best retrying and if nothing comes out, I'll post in the DrumGizmo section.
Thank you!
