Taking the Linux plunge

Post by gmaslin »

I just installed AVLinux and plan to use it as my guitar processor. I'm assuming I'll need some effect plugins and would like to avoid redundancy. Will you help me select the plugin format to go with so I end up with the following:

1. Wah/Expression/Volume control via MIDI pedal
2. Signal Modulation/Reverb/Delay/Looper controls of all signal inputs
3. Volume Modulation/Tremolo/Decay controls of the Signal Modulations above
4. Signal Gain with Wave Shape controls
5. An adjustable tuning function

I have an FCB1010 and the direct cable connection to the sound card so what's my next step?

I don't use guitarix very often but I think it can do all of those things, to an extent anyway, there are loads of effects available built in.

There's also the ToneLib GFX which is a topic in this section. Alex made a demo that sounds pretty good. Still in beta though.

Beside Guitarix https://guitarix.org/ there would be rakarrack http://rakarrack.sourceforge.net/. (If you like looper, SooperLooper http://essej.net/sooperlooper/ is my favorite.)
