Building Carla
Because kxstudio carla was not working with windows VSTs in my system, I started to build it myself.
Instructions on readme are not too clear enough, but got it compiling.
But unfortunately, win vst support does not end up there by default, so still in square 1.
There seems to be old mini-guide for compiling, but is that still valid?

Re: Building Carla
That was what I expected. Is there any general/more recent build instructions?falkTX wrote:Those instructions only work for 14.04

What exactly is the issue?

Tried carla + carla-git, lmms, festige, and none of them loaded windows vst properly. I had lmms-vst-full installed.

Re: Building Carla
Yeah, looks like it might be doable.falkTX wrote:well, the build instructions for windows bridges involve setting up mingw.
I have it set it up for 14.04, where I do build the packages in, but for other systems someone else has to do it.
The only dependency is pthreads-win32.
Maybe look at the AUR scripts that build carla bridges?
If I write some build instructions are you interested to have them?

Re: Building Carla
Got Carla working with win32 VSTs. And all tested VSTs except one I wanted to run, work ok. Fathom won't work. Amazingly, in LMMS it works.

Re: Building Carla
Yes. 32 bit version works ok in LMMS. 64bit with linvst will crash on load in Mixbus / Ardour. 32bit in carla, UI will freeze when showing it, and when closing it, crash. 64 bit in carla still not tested.falkTX wrote:hmm interesting.
there is a free version, I can see what happens when loaded in carla, if it crashes for me I will see if I can fix things.
are you using the Fathom free version?
