Re: New GxCreamMachine.lv2
Hi Hermann,
Ha ha ha, yes, i like to dream to. I used a crybaby whah. But got noisy after years of use, so i looked for a new potmeter and then bought the thomann whah for the same money.
I like this preset now the most. Like you can hear the strumming of the strings.

Re: New GxCreamMachine.lv2
Nice one Brummer! As always you rock! With this release, can we expect the simulation of the JCM 800 power amp anytime soon? I've been using the postamp (ampmodul) in guitarix for now, since I think it sounds more similar to the JCM 800.
Thanks a bunch as always for all your hard work. It's very much appreciated.
Cheers,
Rodney

Re: New GxCreamMachine.lv2
Hi Rodney
I'm glade you like it, and found your way to use it for your purpose. Indeed the CreamMachine cover most of what I've researched during the last 10 years about power amps. As pointed out earlier in this thread, it cover my knowledge about analogue style power amps ported to digital expressions.
I've locally here a couple of power amp sims, but, the CreamMachine is, what I using anytime.
regards
hermann

Re: New GxCreamMachine.lv2
OK, sorry for the probably dumb questions:
1) Could some one shed some light on how to make a amp sim (using the GxCreamMachine)? Tone Stack -> CreamMachine?
2) By the way, Tone Stack is a preamp?
3) I only remember seeing a JCM800 preamp in Guitarix, but would be expected to run Preamp -> Cream Machine?
4) If Tone Stack is different from a preamp and poweramp, how does one use the JCM800 without CreamMachine? preamp -> Tone Stack?

Re: New GxCreamMachine.lv2
No, a Tone stack is the tone control section of a amp, so a part of the amp. In opposite to a EQ it altering the frequency response even in balanced setting and be responsible for the overall tone colour of a amp.finotti wrote:1) Could some one shed some light on how to make a amp sim (using the GxCreamMachine)? The CreamMachine isn't part of guitarix, but a extra LV2 plug, you could download it here:finotti wrote:3) I only remember seeing a JCM800 preamp in Guitarix, but would be expected to run Preamp -> Cream Machine?

You could load it then into guitarix, or the host of your choice.
Indeed, to archive a full amplifier stack, you run Preamp -> CreamMachine.

That is up to your choice, that's why we keep this stuff modular, stick it together as you like. Some users prefer the tone stack before the amp, some behind (I'm mostly use it behind).
On the road again.

Re: New GxCreamMachine.lv2
So, i took my 1st foray into 48kHz land to play with the CreamMachine.tramp wrote:The CreamMachine is developed for 48/96kHz. Don't use it with 44.1/88.2kHz.
Taken from a gtpro file -> converted to midi in TuxGuitar -> into Ardour (was missing some drum parts and needed work) - Recorded guitars, further tweaks and rough mix in Mixbus.
Three instances of GxRedeye Big Chump, GxTubeScreamer and the GxCreamMachine -> LV2 Convolver w/ various IRs for each
Bass - a-Fluid Synth -> Finger Bass.sf2 -> GxSVT -> LV2 Convolver w/ Ampeg 8x10 IR
Drums - Drumgizmo -> Muldjord drumkit3
I think it made my ears bleed, but i kinda like it. This was pretty much done before the other 48kHz designed plugins dropped, so will probably go back in to see how those sound, now.
Big fun. Merci !
