Aliki alternative ?

Post by Frank Carvalho »

Hi

I've been using Aliki for measuring impulse responses, but the interface is very clunky and outdated and it gives no error messages. Furthermore, it seems it doesn't always work. I made an IR sweep on my laptop, but Aliki refused to deconvolute, providing no error messages. I moved the IR project to my main machine, same files, same version of Aliki, and now it would deconvolve.

So I was wondering, are there any better Linux alternatives to Aliki?

There's an old program called qloud, for loudspeaker design that will do IR measurement and analysis, its a little easier to use, but quite out of date (QT3 IIRC). http://gaydenko.com/qloud/

There is also the gratis but not libre Room Eq Wizard. It doesn't interface with jack but if your soundcard can use alsa directly it might work for you. Its very good, I just wish it were open.

Currently CrocoDuck is working on linear and nonlinear profilers for LSP Plugins. We're planning to release linear profiler that will take the convolution using swept-sine method in the nearest future.
