Re: new GxSD2Lead.lv2
sweet man.. about to add to my collection.
dude, since you're doing the vintage pedals, any chance of doing more bass and guitar preamps? The bass preamp in your collection is priceless. Love it!!!!

I'm glad you like it, hope you enjoy the GxSD2Lead as well.funkmuscle wrote: The bass preamp in your collection is priceless. Love it!!!!
Well, possible, I'm doing it mostly to my liking. Do you've a special model in mind for another bass preamp?funkmuscle wrote:since you're doing the vintage pedals, any chance of doing more bass and guitar preamps?

Re: new GxSD2Lead.lv2
Chiming in how valuable some bass preamps would be! The Ampeg B-15 and SVT preamp would be awesome.
Until we started seeing modern boutique bass amp brands in the 80s, Ampeg was IT for bass. It's true that Fender, Vox and Marshall amps existed for bass, but they are not something bass players get excited about.

Re: new GxSD2Lead.lv2
I've made my first steps with the SVT preamp simulation, so far it works out nicely, just, I have some trouble with the Mid range control and select section, which will choke up the simulation. Still need to figure that one out. The simulated amp without the mid control already sounds nice.ufug wrote:Chiming in how valuable some bass preamps would be! It seems for the mxr m81 and as well for the Ampeg Classic Analog Pedal there are no schematics available.funkmuscle wrote:here is are 2 nice preamps:

Re: new GxSD2Lead.lv2
So here is the first draft,
It still miss the mid range control switch, but otherwise comes with the bass and high switch.

Re: new GxSD2Lead.lv2
Just played around with it, using an SVT cab impulse response. The mid switch would be key to make it really like an SVT, but even the first draft sounds really good I will be using this a lot!!tramp wrote:So here is the first draft,
The only thing missing is feeling the air from an 8x10 against the back of my legs.

Re: new GxSD2Lead.lv2
I'm glad you guy's like it.
Indeed it comes without cabinet simulation, so adding it is the "right way " to use it.
For the mid range control, I'm coming to the conclusion that there is a error in the schematic file. The inductor values given, cant be true.
I need to figure out the correct values now in order to make it work.

There are some schematics on that site from other SVTs of same era:tramp wrote:I'm glad you guy's like it.

Maybe they are similar circuits but have a workable version of the mid selector...

Re: new GxSD2Lead.lv2
Okay, got it working. turns out the inductor values been wrong given in the schematics, (needs to be in mH instead uH).
However, GxSVT has now the 3-point mid range selector switch (220Hz, 800Hz, 3kHz)

Thats great! Thanks for that. I am just about to mix some bass and I will certainly give it a try.tramp wrote:Okay, got it working. turns out the inductor values been wrong given in the schematics, (needs to be in mH instead uH).
