new (LV2) GxHotBox.lv2
Hi
While with the previous pedal simulations I've done, I goes for the transistor based vintage gear from the 60s, this one is one of the mid 90s. The HotBox, is a well known tube preamp with interactive tone controls.
In this simulation I go for the distorted/overdrive Channel and implement a click-less true bypass (POWER), instead the clean channel, which the HotBox usually comes with.

Re: new (LV2) GxHotBox.lv2
That title reminded me of the old
Arion Hot-Watt, which made me wonder if
a 'micro' version of the MOD project might be planned/possible?
Korg sold some small Pandora effects boxes, without investing
much in marketing, but newer tech might allow far better results,
and at attractive prices. A little cpu box with some sliders
and a few buttons, clipped on to a shirt/jacket,
and armed with your plugins, would be a nice product.
You could populate it with alternate sets of plugins, via a full computer,
and use a three-button interface to choose among them, and sliders
to control the plugin controls.
Cheers

Thanks also, for feedback, good to know if someone like it or not.
No, it's this one which I've reviewed for the HotBox:glowrak guy wrote:That title reminded me of the old

but version 1, not the 3.
All those plugs been developed with the MOD in mind. Most of them I've tested on the MOD already, and the MOD interfaces been included in the git repository's. Just this one I haven't tested on the MOD, for now, but I'm pretty sure it will run smooth on it.glowrak guy wrote:which made me wonder if

Other than that, no, I don't plan to make a mini MOD or similar. I'm not a hardware guy. Also, I think, to make something comparable in quality of housing and sound, like the MOD, you'll end up by the same price tag then the MOD, even if you do a "mini" version.
The MOD has a incredible noise/signal ratio, great ad/da converters works inside. When I first plug in my guitar, I was really flashed by the quality of the sound output. So, I'll stay with the MOD.
On the road again.

I forgot to mention, I've made a other tube pedal-amp simulation, this time I reviewed this one:

Result is the GxBottleRocket.lv2:

Re: new (LV2) GxHotBox.lv2
Hi Tramp!
Finally I've found time to build all of your latest work (at least with the GUI's). Especially for someone craving 'Overdrive' these are really sounding good and coming along nicely. The "Guv'nor" is nice with the built in tone controls is quite responsive.. I hope to submit something to the next OSM Podcast Tunestorm with only Guitarix guitar sounds if I can write something new on time.
First, thanks very much for taking your time to do these. A couple of questions:
Is it at all possible to combine these 'extra' plugins into a single GIT repo? It takes quite some time to clone and build them all separately..
If I temporarily deb package and install these system-wide will there be problems with future versions of Guitarix trying to overwrite them in /usr/lib/lv2? If I make temporary packages I will be happy to share them for now to save work for others to try these out.

Re: new (LV2) GxHotBox.lv2
perhaps a good solution would be a single repo that has all these others as submodules? I also would like a one stop shop for them all.

I'm glad you like the "Guv'nor", in fact, I've made it on the request you've wrote in the MOD forum
https://forum.moddevices.com/t/overtone ... -store/901
I've now setup a GxPlugs.lv2 repository which contain the "ready to use" plugs as submodules, like ssj71 suggest. They could be downloaded and build/install in one run now.
https://github.com/brummer10/GxPlugins.lv2
Those plugs are all mean to be "extra", they wont be included into guitarix main. They never will interference with a guitarix installation. No need to mark it temporary.
