Preliminary poll for distro + KXstudio combinations

Post by chtfn »

I am thinking of creating a poll to see what combinations of distro + KXstudio people use, and how satisfied they are with them.

I have listed obvious combinations (polls are limited to 10 options here), but please add all the distros you have used with KXstudio as a reply in this thread. I also plan to make it more precise with different distro versions.

Cheers

I used it with Debian Sid/Unstable. (Well, in fact in either aptosid or siduction, but they are basically Debian Sid.)

I prefer KXStudio + Mint 18.x with any DE, just because 1) I don't have to fuss with anything and 2) it's the only distro I haven't been able to accidentally break in some way after a few months of tinkering.

I've tried KX on Debian and Ubuntu too and they all work fine. KXStudio is the one thing that finally made Linux audio within reach for me--I could never get things working right before KX. All hail KX!

I'll mention that I used to use ubuntu studio + KX but XFCE didn't actually integrate as well with the i3 window manager I prefer, so now I just do vanilla ubuntu + KX (but I don't really use unity).

actually, this poll mixes 2 questions:
1) what distro (ubuntu, debian, mint, etc)
2) what DE (KDE, Gnome, Mate, Unity, etc.)
technically, different flavors of ubuntu (Kubuntu, Ubuntu Gnome, Ubuntu Unity, etc) are not different distros.
