wine vs wine-rt

Reaper works fine with wineasio and wine-rt but not Ableton Live 9. I could use Playonlinux to install it but it tries to use regular(?) version of wine (1.5.25) with Live. What is the benefit of using wine-rt? Lower latency? Stability?

Actually what I did:

I removed everything wine-related
I installed wine-staging and wine-staging-compat
I installed wineasio
(if wine-staging-compat is installed, dependency is satisfied, wine-rt not needed).

one more problem: winetricks dont work with wine-staging or wine-rt

the kxstudio's wineasio package is not compatible with wine-staging packages (wants to install wine-rt), so you likely removed wineasio while installing wine-staging.
something I'll fix soon.
