I am doing a second fresh install of debian testing, after first attemp failed to install kxstudio
According to the package list, https://packages.debian.org/search?keyw ... ection=all, when i search gcc, it says it comes with gcc 4:6.2.1-1 and gcc 5.4.1-3.
Then, i want to install this kernel http://bandshed.net/forum/index.php?topic=3719.0 but it says i need gcc 6.1
Then, instructions at http://kxstudio.linuxaudio.org/Repositories say in Debian Testing i need to enable gcc-5 packages, installing a gcc package of version gcc5_9.4.1
I am confused about these versions. What version should i install? Is that kernel incompatible with kxstudio?
Thanks in advance

Re: A bit confused about gcc
Debian Testing has gcc 6.2 as it's default compiler but Linux kernel still uses gcc 5 to build kernel modules. This may be a problem.
