Confused about the upgrade to 16.04
I've read too many of these posts and I'm confused. I'd really like to upgrade to 16.04 (running KXStudio 14.04), and I'd like to know if it's safe to upgrade. Will it break my system?
Re: Confused about the upgrade to 16.04
I'd really like the new Kdenlive... any way to get that on 14.04? And can you tell me why the experience on 14.04 is better? Just curious.

Don't get me wrong, Filipe... I appreciate all that you do and love your work, but do you think it would be best to just use a different 16.04 distro and just use your repos?

Kxstudio repos work fine for me with kubuntu 16.04 an kde neon.

I, for one, am simply happy to know KXStudio will still be around in April 2018!

Re: Confused about the upgrade to 16.04
I'm successfully using KXStudio and KDE Neon. I actually think that, on balance, the problems are no worse than with 14.04, it's just different problems. I have the new Kdenlive and other nice things, KDE5 is better in many regards. I also am missing a few things, and the tweaks KXStudio still needs to do are an issue. None of this is worse than being stuck with 14.04 and old kdenlive etc.

I recently did a fresh install of 16.04 with "Ubuntu Mate" when I found this helpful youtube guide from user Wesley Sinks...

A good tip is to always setup the "home" directory on a separate partition so that you keep your files on future upgrades.
