seq24 - how to connect to other apps?

I am new to kxstudio, but I've used Ubuntu Studio for a while.

I have Hydrogen and Zynaddsubfx open and I see them in Caita/Claudia. When I open seq24 and create a new pattern and go to that drop down in the top right, I'm used to choosing "Hydrogen" and then having that pattern control Hydrogen.

However, In this kxstudio install, I'm seeing 15 Midi-through ports and nothing else.

Is there a trick to get the other apps to be connectable?

I don't have an answer for this, but this adds to the fact that seq24 does not play well with jack/alsa/midi/etc..

I've never been able to get that program to show up in any patchbay. Routing all that crap through the drop-down menu is a nightmare.

It's a shame, because it's otherwise a pretty cool little program. I'd use it more often if it worked better.

I understand someone has a fork on github that has had a degree of development. I don't know how far he's got.

Yes there is. Use the virtual midi-through ports.
