Packages Held Back

Post by bazsound »

This has been going on for a while.

Last night i ran apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade.

violla no held packages and everything was going to be upgraded/insalled, but my internet was far too slow to download all the upates and new packages.

went to do it when i got up when my internet was not throttled.

Nope

Held packages again.

Code: Select all

Calculating upgrade... Done
The following packages will be REMOVED
  kdenlive kxstudio-meta-all kxstudio-meta-video

The following packages have been kept back:

The following packages will be upgraded:

5 to upgrade, 13 to newly install, 3 to remove and 5 not to upgrade.
Need to get 65.2 MB of archives.
After this operation, 234 MB of additional disk space will be used.

Code: Select all

alex@Studio1:~$ sudo apt-get install kdenlive kdenlive-data
[sudo] password for alex:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
kdenlive-data is already the newest version.
kdenlive-data set to manually installed.
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
kdenlive : Depends: libnepomuk4 (>= 4:4.5.85) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
alex@Studio1:~$
14.04! No wouldnt touch it with a 10 foot barge pole. running 12.04

I have kdenlives repo added, but thats not causing the problem with kx stuff being held back as i was having the held packages before i added kdenlives repos
