CPU Scaling Governor greyed out in Cadence

Post by digdug »

Is this bad? Am I missing out on some huge performance improvement? My system does not have the /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ directory. Is there some kernel module I need to install to make this directory appear?

The CPU SG setting in Cadence seems to work fine under KXStudio (Ubuntu 12.04) so it seems odd that it wouldn't work under other Ubuntu variants without root.

Which distros does it not work with?

How about including both indicator-cpufreq and cpufrequtils in the 12.04.2 iso?

I think at least the latter should be included in all Ubuntu installs as its the recommended way (for Debuntu) to set and check the CPU guv AFAIK
