Hi falkTX!

Using calf-plugins-git some parts of the UI are missing, basically everything in the green "screens" or scopes, like no more response curve for EQs, or moving dots in the chorus, etc. Plus, a new plugin has been released, Multi Spread. Could you please kill two birds with one stone by updating it? :D

falkTX wrote:small updates:

ams updated to 2.1.2
giada updated to 0.11.2

helm now ships with lv2 presets

and in other news, carla will now find plugins when the loaded filename doesn't exist.
that is, if you have a project with a vst in /usr/local/lib/vst/ on 1 computer but it's ~/.vst/ on another, carla will realize the file is missing and look for it.
the filename needs to match though, there's no magic uniqueId-based lookup yet.
^^^ All good, cool stuff! Thanks falkTX!!

The missing graphs in carla is on purpose, disable ui bridges if you want to see those again.
Thanks! FYI, using carla-git, enabling or disabling ui bridges and restart it does not change de display of those plugins :(

Thanks to KVR, I came across some plugins for linux, I don't know if they've been mentioned yet:

these are some old plugin i made with my old plugin framework.. long before i really understood what i was doing :-) so the audio quality and stability is not the greatest.. since then i have upgraded the library with all sorts of quality enhancements (oversampling, antialiased oscillators, better filters, etc), better stability, less cpu usage, and new features.. i have been planning to make new versions of all those (30+) old ones using the new framework/library, but things have been pretty busy for a while here, with live shows and preparations, and recording/releasing albums with several projects.. but.. in a few weeks things will calm down, and i will start looking into this.. and also, since i don't use windows anywhere anymore, i will probably only make linux vst plugins from now on, which will simplify things quite a bit. :-)

Cool!! And thank you for responding to my post! I'm sure there'd be lots of people around these parts (including myself) who would love to see the project revived.
Keep me posted if/when you get time to develop anything. I don't mind doing a bit of testing if needed..! :)

Any chance of adding Bristol synths as LV2 plug-ins in Carla? That would be really nice.

Any chance you could build new Ardour package any time soon? They fixed an annoying bug that is quite important for anyone using assigned MIDI controls (http://tracker.ardour.org/view.php?id=5633).
Thanks in advance, Jan

I should updated that, even though no more work on jack_mixer is being done.
I exchanged emails with someone from the jack_mixer team in August. That's not too long ago. Hmm? :|

just did apt-get update && apt-get-upgrade - ardour in kxstudio repos still has that particular bug:

$ dpkg -l | grep ardour4
ii ardour4 1:4.6.22-1kxstudio1

It's fixed as of dd05f1e257 (>= 4.6.234)

falkTX wrote:oh, I thought you wanted ardour 4.6 (which we didn't had in the repos until a few weeks ago).
I can update to latest nightly sure, but I'll ask the ardour devs if it's safe to use right now first.
Did you already find the time to do this? Sorry for my impatience, but this bug annoys the sh.. out of me. Bought this nice Novation Launch Control XL and can't really use it with ardout. TIA, Jan
