Impro-visor
Nootka (maybe when it is fixed to stop requiring Pulse or help the dev do that)

http://surfacepatterns.blogspot.com.au/ ... p-012.html Nice MIDI monitor....We have GMIDIMonitor now, but this one is Qt based, so matches KDE better?

Minaton and Newtonator! :D

Pretty please...! :D

(I've been asked to add them to amsynth.com, so I'd like to see how they perform, and get a few patches going even...)

Hey FalkTX, I'm guessing maybe this wasn't you since the version mentions precise 12.0.4.2 and not KXStudio: I got the Audacity 2.0.3 update just now! So as far as I know it is set. Thanks if you did it, but maybe the Raring stuff is getting backported because of the transition to 12.0.4.2?

Anyway, cheers!

Ah. Everything in Audacity works great except for two bugs: 1. 64-bit use of sliding time/pitch scale effect is completely messed up (this is a bug I at least saw others on Audacity forum identifying and it was there before in v. 2.0.0 but just unfortunately not fixed yet; 2. black-text black-background for the variable speed playback slider (even though I'm using my grey theme, not the KXStudio theme). But these are just probably internal issues with Audacity. Anyway, I did other things and it all works great. The new Paulstretch effect is supreme!

Found this curious app for linux through vstplanet:

http://nootka.sourceforge.net/

I don't know how useful it might be, but interesting nonetheless..

Brian, this app looks to be absolutely superb. Unfortunately, it currently crashes if Pulse Audio isn't installed. The dev knows about it because I posted a bug report and he did reply to that. Anyway, I posted a message about Nootka in a different topic here and I already mentioned it in the first reply to the current thread here.

Thanks falk, I'll see if I can install newtonator from the repos.

BTW, there's a new version of amSynth ready-- can you update?

Thanks!

brian, I'd never even heard of newtonator and I came across it in Carla last week just trying everything. It was already in my system just by the default KXStudio install. Just use Carla to load it.

Thanks wolftune!
It looks to be a strange little synth!

And, amSynth is going through some good modifications to deal with aliasing in the higher ranges. I suspect some sounds will sound fuller/brighter. We'll see!

Hi wolftune,
If you use it at all, let me know how it goes!

I will definitely be using Nootka and am very optimistic about it. I'm just waiting for the bug fix. I don't want to install Pulse Audio. And the fact is, I have enough to keep me busy in the mean time

hello Falk!
I work often with Pure Data, i installed it from ubuntu repository.
In KXStudio lucid 64 PD works quite well (version 0.42...), In KXStudio precise 32 PD work with some issue (version 0.43.0-4, see topic: test 12.04.1 with FA-66 firewire and Pure Data ), i think that PD was in Klaudia launcher for a period...
Yesterday i make a fresh install of KXStudio from new dvd iso. I installed PD from MUON and when start, it crash Cadence.
I would be very happy if will be a version of PD in KX repo!

Thanks! Alessandro
