I'm not a programmer so I couldn't get much out of the links posted. Is the "Jack" referred to the same as this Jack?

It would be nice if somebody would light a fire under the developers of the Android OS so they would do something about its awful latency problems.

What I understand from the discussion is, there are still some problems need to be resolved, before a Android device will work with low latency. But the good is, to know that someone work on it. In this case, it is a "commercial vendor" (Samsung) working out a open source solution, what makes it even more notable.

Yeah, it seems that these days Samsung has become the biggest mover and shaker in the Android world with their tremendously successful and well-received Galaxy Sx phones. I have an S4 and I wouldn't trade it for an iPhone 5, even if I were offered the 5 and money -- unless it was a lot of money, then I'd probably cave.

I hope Samsung meets with success on this matter and that it can be a fix that can be downloaded to their phones and tablets, either in the OS or the firmware. Or both. There are more Android apps than iOS apps these days, but when it comes to music -- iOS rules. There are a ton of apps for iOS products, including several very high end music production apps which can be used for pro quality music recording and arranging, etc. All from an iPhone, iPod, or iPad. I would really like to see this same sort of quality selection become available for Android products, especially Samsung's phones and tablets, but also for the ASUS and other tablets out there.
