Must have been a bug with the archive.org player. I didn't change anything in the code to display the track list recently, only the top part of the page.

I think I found something, which may have caused this. The audio player from Archive.org is loaded in a separate IFrame for each track. The id
attribute of the IFrame tags was not unique, so that may have confused the caching of the browser. I fixed this now, so that every audio player
IFrame gets a unique ID.

Also, about the voting.
Can you vote for yourself? I couldn't find a rule against it.
That's an easy way to score 5 points.
(I think this shouldn't be allowed)

It's not allowed and the voting form actually doesn't allow you to select the track you have submitted.

I do admit, that this is not explicitly stated in the rules. But it is implemented in the voting logic from the get go, so applies to everybody.

I know I can't do much about cheating attempts by registering a separate account for voting, but I will at least check the server logs for suspicious requests (same IP address, same browser, etc.). Apart from that I can only appeal to your honesty!

Ah excellent!

I trust in everyone's good intentions.
I trust strict rules more ;-)

Now that all competition entries are in, is anybody interested in doing a showcase track, that could be uploaded to SoundCloud and/or YouTube?

Basically a short snippet of each track (30 - 45 sec.) one after another, crossfaded into each other.

The bulk of the work would be compiling the description with links to each track and the correct title, artist and license information.

I would like to do it, but I'm rather busy with the rest of the organization of the competition.

Hey guys,

one thing I didn't fully think through before the competition is whether to show any statistics or trends about the votes so far during the voting period.

Some of you are probably itching to see how well they fare, but for those who have not voted yet, seeing the current status or trends might influence their vote.

I listed some possible ways to handle this below. I'd like to know what you think about this.

Possible Ways of Handling Voting Statistics / Trends:

E = Everybody
U = Registered users
V = Voters
C = Competition entrants

1. No statistics or trends shown to anybody until voting is over

2a. C can see total score of each track (i.e. score board at that point in time)
2b. C can see total score of own track
2c. C can see how often each track has been voted for (but not points per vote)
2d. C can see how often own track has been voted for (but not points per vote)

3a. V can see total score of each track
3b. V can see how often each track has been voted for (but not points per vote)

4a. U can see total score of each track
4b. U can see how often each track has been voted for (but not points per vote)

5a. E can see total score of each track
5b. E can see how often each track has been voted for (but not points per vote)

Bit off-topic maybe, but funkwhale instance for sonoj would be rather charming. Anyone looked into that? https://funkwhale.audio/
It's like a federated opensource SoundCloud/Grooveshark.
