To run a certain church organ VST in LMMS I have to start LMMS from the command line. See: http://lmms.io/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=31031
To do that from the desktop I have put a bash file on the desktop that starts LMMS when I doubleclick on it. So that works fine as an alternative launcher. But still it asks every time if I want to run LMMS in the terminal. See:
Can you choose once and for all that you want to run LMMS in terminal when you doubleclick on the bash file?

Thanks - found some info about that here: https://developer.gnome.org/integration ... es.html.enrghvdberg wrote:Maybe better would be a custom .desktop file
Just look in /usr/share/applications for examples
I hope there is also a more simple solution...?

Re: Starting LMMS from a bash file on the desktop
I will leave it as it is for now. It's not such a big problem anyway, and who knows what problems I get into when I want to use .desktop-files. I'm going to concentrate somewhat more on making music, and less on the ins and outs of Linux.
