What other apps and distros do you use to round out your studio?

A Midi Logging Tool For Jack?

Post by yokai »

I need to monitor some of the midi messages my device is emitting in some sort of log or viewer. Are there any jack programs that give accurate message monitoring including things like polyphonic aftertouch or velocity?

I use midisnoop.

you'll properly find it as well in your distribution repository.

If the device sends ALSA-MIDI (and all of the hardware I know does) try aseqdump.

For jack there is jack_midi_dump that comes with the jackd-package.
