Good Linux instruments and plugins sources?

What other apps and distros do you use to round out your studio?

I think nearly everything comes with format choices
including sf2 and sfz
Do their soundfonts contain multiple velocities for instruments & orhestras? Do they have pizzicato, stacato, etc?
Here's a review that touches on the diversity of the sounds,

I have the Plant Earth soundset, but it's not orchestral.

I can believe that getting all of their soundfonts or at least most expensive, that would be true. Knowing what is in lower-end orchestral packs is another thing.

If you are seeking sources for free VSTs for synths, drum and piano effects that actually do sound good then I'd reckon these well-rounded lists:

https://techraver.com/free-drum-vst-plugins/
https://techraver.com/best-free-vst-plugins/
https://techraver.com/best-free-piano-vst-plugins/

To be honest, some of these VSTs are pretty decent considering they are free while others are just meh. Each to their own, I guess. Hope it helps.

I'm not sure if you noticed the title of this thread, and the URL of this forum...um...

(Hint hint: Linux...)

having taken the hint years ago, I have a lot of those on the lists
and they work fine in linux/wine, and when wrapped by linvst.
And their quality makes them deserving of mentions in such listings.

Try before you buy, as some of these developers are commercially active these days

One of the drum plugins has been altered by the dev to work in linux/wine,
and has request to vote your desire for a full linux port.
