shufti - the best image viewer

What other apps and distros do you use to round out your studio?

shufti - the best image viewer

Post by danboid »

shufti is a lightweight, PyQt-based image viewer that non-destructively saves and restores the zoom level, rotation, window size, desktop location and viewing area on a per-image/file location basis.

It is the only image viewer that works how I believe all image viewers should've always worked ie in a persistent manner - like most of my other apps.

v2.3 has been released now and as far as I'm concerned it is the best image viewing app available so I'm hoping I've convinced you to check it out to see if it will become your image viewer of choice too.

These days I only really use 2 media consumption apps under Linux - shufti for images and mpv for everything else.

I'd like to hear what peoples fave image viewing apps are and why?

I really like XnView MP for all of it's features, and Ristretto for when I just need something really simple.
Also, I use IrfanView via Wine when I want to do some color editing.

I don't really like the QT dependencies, as I run a very lightweight system.
My image viewer of choice is gliv, which has only a few dependencies and behaves perfectly sane.
