integra live, lnx studio, darkwave studio

What other apps and distros do you use to round out your studio?

integra live, lnx studio, darkwave studio

Post by tatch »

not exactly linux software but has anyone heard of integra live? It's an open soure modular environment that looks quite nice, but it isn't supported on gnu/linux since it uses the adobe flex frontend. from the forums:

Integra Live was originally developed for GNU/Linux as well as Windows and Mac OS. The Integra Live GUI is based on Adobe Flex, and one of the reasons we chose this framework was cross-platform support provided by the Adobe AIR runtime.

However, when Adobe withdrew support for the Adobe AIR runtime on Linux, we had to cease development on the Linux platform.

If a suitable runtime becomes available on Linux we will resume Linux support. Also, since the Integra Live GUI is highly decoupled from the backend, it may be interesting for someone to develop an alternative GUI on Linux, making use of the libIntegra API.
I also found LNX studio and darkwave studio, which are both open-source but not available on linux.

Adobe should be cursed for not supporting Ubuntu. :(

Yes, it's been covered somewhat on KVR.

It's Pd with a nicer UI.
Integra Live was originally developed for GNU/Linux...
Oh well.

Nice environments, both have been around for a while. Oriented to the "Let's get going NOW!" crowd, but probably capable of some deeper operation. :)

Trying to get integra live. I don't understand, does it need apache server? Looking into apache-flex-sdk sources, i can't understand its build system (doesn't have not only makefiles, but even scripts, only some xml files, e.g. build.xml in src package root). And neither ubuntu, nor gentoo don't have nothing with "apache-flex" in name. And by description it is made for mobile platforms, but for desktops - only www browsers.

As mentioned above, it probably won't work on linux anymore as Adobe decided to stop supporting Flex on Linux. (not sure if that's really that unfortunate - flex seems like quite a dead end anyway, even on other platforms)

IntegraLive is moving from Adobe AIR to JUCE, making it easier for a Linux build in future.

There are a couple of LM links in my GH post. The GH issue response also clarifies things slightly. I'm making another post there very shortly.

I'm further educating myself about the submission, have just read;
