Code: Select all

$ apt-file search libjack.la
libjack-dev: /usr/lib/libjack.la

Right! So this tells you /usr/lib/libjack.la is in libjack-dev. Have you got libjack-dev installed?

If anyone succeeded in compiling Denemo 0.8.8 under debian unstable or testing, I would be very very insterested in knowing how this problem was solved.

I documented this for you, and put it on the Denemo wiki so as many people as possible can take advantage of it (and extend it where I left things out ;) ).

See http://denemo.org/index.php/Compiling

Let me know if anything is unclear or doesn't work for you.

Edit: ah, I see now you're referring to the specific libjack problem mentioned above, not to compiling Denemo in general. Well, can't hurt to have this documentation up anyway, but sorry it won't help you much :)

Ehm... thank you very much, but my problem was not a regular compilation (I had no problems with 0.8.6)... you can find more info in this thread:

bye

@ PietroBattiston, ask the debian multimedia team, they can help you: http://wiki.debian.org/DebianMultimedia

Not really: the example is really geared towards Denemo, so I'd say the Denemo wiki is a good place for it.

If we wanted to refer to a more general 'guide to compiling stuff', it might make more sense to put it on the Debian wiki.

seems like the problem only happened on _my_ debian unstable install
I hate that sort of thing ;)
I was able to use it in building a new debian package, now available in the repositories:
Great!!
