Running MuseScore
Hello, I'm Ariadna from Argentina...
My husband and I are music teachers, we have turned to Linux some years ago but we still keep Windows in one of our computers just to be able to use Finale. I've been reading all your posts about Score editors for Linux, I've tried Denemo but we didn't like it. Now I'm trying to install MuseScore from "Terminal" but I can't, I'm surely doing something wrong....could you please help me on this so we can try Musescore? Thanks!!!!

Re: Running MuseScore
Bienvenidos Ariadna,
What distribution are you running? If it is Ubuntu or related, it's in the Software Center. In terminal it would be just sudo apt-get install musescore
I think.
Me encanta musescore. Lo uso con muchos de mis alumnos!

Re: Running MuseScore

Re: Running MuseScore
Can MuseScore insert notes in the score in realtime, during performance? I suppose it would require tempo-syncing with the software instrument...?

Re: Running MuseScore
Brian,
Musescore does not have that capacity at this time. You can record to any MIDI sequencer though, export the MIDI, and import to Musescore. Currently, Musescore accepts MIDI input, but just note-by-note, not in real-time.

Cool! I'll try that.wolftune wrote:Brian,

I suppose it's also possible to have both a MIDI sequencer and audio recording working contemporaneously too, right? That would give both audio and digital results of the same performance..
Then I'd load the MIDI data into Muse to create the score, correct?
