Problem with zynadd and qtractor

Hi all,

i'm using lmms for some MIDI sequencing and it's quite good but it's just impossible to have it going in real time - i have to se the latency in the program for like 60 ms in order to get it going normally and sometimes it gives xruns in jack even with this configuration. I then tried to use qtractor as it loads easly tons of plugins and works flawlessly in RT, but it doesn't load some presents in zynadd (like choir 6, breathy pad etc) wich i'd like to use. I'm running ubuntu lucid 64 bit with kxstudio repo's, rt kernel and qtractor 4.6.x (don't remember). Is there a solution for this?

Thanks!

Last time I looked there were some serious problems with LMMS's JACK support. These problems are nontrivial to fix - I know there's been some work on it, but likely they haven't been resolved yet.

I haven't been following LMMS development much, so you might want to check the changelogs if this ever got fixed, but I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't gotten to this yet.

How do you load zyn into Qtractor?

I load it as a dssi, as i can load other soft synths (calf, etc). It doesn't load zynadd's interface, but it loads the banks and i can actually play some them but not all. It doesn't make sense..i've seen an updated version of qtractor on the site, maybe compiling it could help me somehow?

By the way lmms plays imported sound files slowly..it's kind of weird, but maybe it's because i should load only little samples and not entire patterns? It's such a good program but it's annoying for this kind of stuff.

Why don't you start zyn normal and start qtractor. Then connect it with qjackctl. It works fine here

yep, it does. I was just wondering why it behaves so strangely, and if it was my problem or a bug.
