Got a new blog
I've blogged in the past about my music making with Linux on http://bagofspoons.net/blog, but the overhead of composing posts on Pyblosxom was meaning I wasn't getting around to it so often lately. So I have started a new blog on Blogger at http://studiospoon.blogspot.co.uk/. This will cover my gear, the software I use and my learning process. I'm no expert on recording, but it may be helpful and/or interesting to someone. I'm open to questions.

As a guitarist, you'd love a Fender Mustang usb amp/input interface.steevc wrote:I've blogged in the past about my music making with Linux

Dave Philips has one now, if you are near a Guitar Center, 10% off for Easter
means $100 for a no hassle usb source of 12 legendary Fender amp models, and the
fx to surround them with. A dial chooses 24 presets you create/edit, if the factory
ones are of no interest. 'Plug' is the linux editor for this. Fuse is the bundled Mac/Pc
editor. Hear it:

Hey Steve, good blog !
The PLUG software is still maintained, I just upgraded the other day. It isn't as fancy as Fender's editor, but it's got more than enough features to keep a creative patch builder busy. Also, you can upgrade the amplifier's BIOS with PLUG (assuming you have the upgrade image, easily obtained from Fender's site).
My article on the Mustang and PLUG :

It was a popular article, got about 22000 reads.
Best,

He does indeed, and he loves it. I bought it when it came out, the going price then was ~$100US, they should be less by now. And there are three more models now. so you have plenty of pwoer ranges to choose from.slowpick wrote:As a guitarist, you'd love a Fender Mustang usb amp/input interface.
