For what purpose?
Personally I have no intention of giving Google even more data than they have already about me.

how to?
Re: OSM, FOSS & Linux Audio User Locations
I *think* (I did it this morning, its not necessarily straightforward) click the link, add to my maps (must have google account IIUC) the search your hometown or address or whatever and add to my places -> add to OSM, FOSS & Linux Audio User map., then go rename that location at the bottom of the list to your user name.
Something like that. Correct me if wrong.

Re: OSM, FOSS & Linux Audio User Locations
Location-based sites like this have the potential to help you find people if your area with similar interests, if you want to. Your choice. I've played with http://www.musomap.com/ that does this specifically for musicians and you can search by tags. Unfortunately neither shows anyone near me. I have met a couple of other open source musicians through a local LUG and seeing what they had done in their studios inspired me to be more adventurous. Wonderful as the internet is, it can't always match the hands-on aspects of meatspace. Plus, the unavoidable latency limits on-line jamming.tux99 wrote:For what purpose?

I'd forgotten this map, but I added myself a while back. You can always put your marker somewhere other than your house, e.g. the local pub, if you don't want to give away the location of your secret base/bass
