X11 and pci_burst

Post by studio32 »

With X11, enable PCI_burst, disable PCI_retry. This helps ensure the graphics card does not use too many PCI bus cycles, stalling the sound card.

How do I enable PCI_burst and disable PCI_retry?

in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf

in the Device section, add:

Code: Select all

option "pci_burst" "true"
if your GPU does not support this option, xorg will ignore it at startup.

To know if it was OK, just inspect /var/log/Xorg.0.log after you restart X with this option.
