usb Soundcard Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 2 Gen.
Hello,
I have a problem where I don't know what to do, I can't get the sound card Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 2 Gen to run. Everything seems to be configured correctly, I also installed KX Studio in the yard that the card finally makes sounds.

so card is recognized as USB device and also in Alsa, these loop back entries come from the KX Studio configuration .
I can start in KX Studio Jack etc in Qjackctl I can select the sound card, but there is no sound coming out of the speakers or headphones.
Also in Archlinux the same problem, also with my laptop ( Debian). With Windows 7 the sound card works, cable etc. have tried different usb ports , cable etc. as well.

I don't know anymore, maybe one of you has an idea what else I can do?
Thank you

Re: usb Soundcard Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 2 Gen.
Have you checked in alsamixer to see if it is muted?

Re: usb Soundcard Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 2 Gen.
A mistake on my part. It's about the sound output and this indicates "F3". Sry

Re: usb Soundcard Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 2 Gen.
I'm having the same problem. I briefly got it to work by connecting it to a Windows computer and installing the Windows driver. After that it worked in Linux perfectly for a couple days, then it stopped and now nothing I do can get it to start working again.
I'm also using a Focusrite 2i4 (second gen). I thought my unit might have some problem with the class-compliant stuff, but I borrowed a friend's Mac and it worked fine there too.
Did you say you got it to work in KX Studio? So far I trying different distros (from live CDs) hasn't helped me.
Edit: When it did work I remember seeing a lot more in alsamixer.

I think I had the same problem when I got my scarlett, ... but don´t remember well what I did to get a sound out of it.
Can you try it with audacity - with alsa driver? Can you select scarlet 2i4, Do you have sound?
Sorry for asking - on scarlett itself: is Direct Monitor set to Playback?

Re: usb Soundcard Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 2 Gen.
No luck with audacity (before or after killing pulseaudio). I have direct monitor around 50/50 so I should be able to hear anything that's playing on the computer or from the inputs. It might be worth mentioning I also can't monitor the inputs. It's like it's not initialized yet or something.
I know when I briefly had it working I could see a lot more in alsamixer than just the "USB Internal Validity" that I see now.
It'd be helpful if someone who has a working second generation 2i4 could post what they see in alsamixer.
Edit: I also made sure to toggle the source between 1-2 and 3-4, but that didn't help either.

Huh, so I actually have more things in alsamixer than I should, not less.

Re: usb Soundcard Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 2 Gen.
Hi,
I just had the same issue with my 2i4 trying Ubuntu Studio. I chose the right sound card several times, Jack started but all applications claimed that there is no Jack daemon. Finally I turned off the internal sound card using the BIOS settings and it worked.
