zita-a2j in Ubuntu 16.04 gives Detected excessive timing errors, waiting 10 seconds.
I upgraded my ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04. Upgrade itself went fine.
However, my playing setup stopped working properly. My secondary audio interface (Alesis IO2) is connected with zita-a2j, and now after update,
it will work few minutes (10 or something like that), and after it, it says 'Detected excessive timing errors, waiting 10 seconds.' and will not output audio after it, ever. It needs restart.
Any ideas for reasons or fixes?
Edit: tried sample rates. Giving zita-a2j samplerate 44100 will make it fail in few seconds. Change of jack samplerate 48000 or 44100 does not make any difference.

Are you using the generic kernel?

Kernel is 4.4.0-59-lowlatency, but don't know if it matters, since jack is started as normal user, from qjackctl?

I would think the low latency one should be fine. Sorry, not sure other than that.

For me, solution seems to be turning back to using alsa_in. Having jack on same sample rate as the interface is, it works ok.
