Setup guide for rtirq

Post by icb »

Hi
Can anyone point me to a setup guide for rtirq and tuning priority settings? It seems that I'm seeing conflicting information about scheduling priority and the priority setting in qjackctl in terms of what higher or lower numbers represent

Afaik it's simply a script you run, there's no setup as such that I'm aware of. (Somebody please correct me if I'm mistaken?)
Just download it from Rui's site, extract the archive and execute.
Whether it'll really reduce xruns or not I don't know.

It depends on your hardware. You might need to tweak the rtirq configuration file, especially RTIRQ_NAME_LIST. From the linuxaudio wiki:
The RTIRQ_NAME_LIST variable contains a list of space separated service names of which the first entry gets the highest priority.
