Looks like you have to be logged in to search the forum. I'm pretty sure this can be turned off in the phpbb admin panel, but I'm guessing it's turned on for reason

I seem to remember we shielded this off because of performance problems caused by bots or something like that.

Perhaps we should turn it back on and see how it goes? Or indeed link it to an external search engine...
