I'm pleased to announce the release of guitarix2-0.39.0

A virtual guitar amplifier for Linux running with jack (Jack Audio Connection Kit).

This is a maintenance release which mainly is meant to get rid of the python2 build dependency.

Changes are so far:
  • - updated waf version to 2.0.19 by Andreas Degert

    - cleanup all GTK(mm) calls to be able to build with -DGSEAL_ENABLE flag (prepare to update to GTK3) by Hubert Figuière

    - update Russian Translation by Valeriy Shtobbe and Olesya Gerasimenko (Basealt Translation Team)

    - bind lv2:enabled to guitarix on_off switch and remove from UI by Hermann Meyer

    - update all build scripts to use faust version 2.15.11 by Hermann Meyer

    - add new option -E --hideonquit, to make the UI experience smooth when used as LV2 plugin (via Carla export) by Hermann Meyer

    - add exit handler and warning when sample-rate is above 96kHz by Hermann Meyer
You could get it here:

I had to use the pre-generated files (Faust) since I wasn't able to compile those, even with --faust.

The version of my distro was way too old (0.9). The official faust release was still a bit too old.

Yea, that's recommended anyway.
The --faust option is a developer option, it's to check if a new faust release work well with our build scripts.
Without this option, the configure step check if a supported faust version is installed, if so, it assumes you are a developer and it will rebuild those files. But, that isn't really needed, if you didn't plan to hack the sources.

For those who didn't like sourceforge, there is now a officially mirror of guitarix on github:

That was far from a helpful comment, Alex. Please give space to those whose development efforts
enrich your life to make decisions you might not agree with. Moving to a new code-hosting /
bug-reporting platform is a *huge* time sink.

Hi studio32

I'm sorry, nope.
Currently we've a port to GTK(mm)3 for the main interface and a port to X11(cairo) for the LV2 plugs in the pipe. That needs to be finished before we could add any new feature.
