and … seems like new shiny UI does not work properly with i915 video (at least out of the box, but i have no idea what to tune).
reverted my installation to legacy UI build

Re: ZynFusion goes Open Source
btw, this happened on Ubuntu 18.04.falkTX wrote:The new UI requires at least OpenGL 2.0.
I was hoping by now every distro and gpu combination had at least that...
„OpenGL version string: 1.4 Mesa 17.2.4“, says glxinfo.
update:
seems like the actual problem is too old chipset of my current machine.
will try on my laptop in a few hours.

Re: ZynFusion goes Open Source
The new GUI requires OpenGL 2.1+ with the framebuffer extension where as the old GUI could work if your GPU was replaced with a potato (trying to replace your graphics card with a potato is not recommended). I'd check to see what openGL version your system supports.chaocrator wrote:and … seems like new shiny UI does not work properly with i915 video (at least out of the box, but i have no idea what to tune).

Re: ZynFusion goes Open Source
Thanks a ton for all of your work on this, Fundamental.
I noticed that when I use Zyn as a plugin in Ardour, I get xruns like crazy when the GUI is visible, but my audio runs smooth when I close the GUI. However if I load it in Carla (without Ardour running), viewing the GUI doesn't seem to cause many xruns at all. I'm really confused, since I think I was using the same Jack settings, and my Ardour session was fairly empty at the time.
The answer might be as simple as "get better hardware"... I'm using a 1.8GHz quad core AMD Athlon II processor and a super cheap video card, lspci reports:

Re: ZynFusion goes Open Source
IRQ priority might be an issue. I know I've had issues where GPU load was cutting in front of soundcard load in the past.

Re: ZynFusion goes Open Source
ubuntu 16.04 + Intel HD graphics 4000 — works as expected.
so, for those who still use old hardware, supported OpenGL version for their GPUs is the 1st thing to check.

Re: ZynFusion goes Open Source
Hi,
I purchased zynfusion to use on Solus with Ardour but the install directories were all wrong.
I have since installed AV Linux and everything works great.
I have only one problem and it is a show stopper.
I cannot work out how to save my own presets at all.
You cannot enter a file name. Also something in the process causes Ardour to go down. Don't remember what exactly.
If someone could tell me how to do this I would be really grateful.
Cheers!

Re: ZynFusion goes Open Source
It's also not working for me. Workaround is to make a dummy file in your file explorer and choose this with the mouse in zynfusion as the (new) preset file. Crashes can happen, likely a bug in zynfusion.
