Mounting Zoom H4 on a mic stand

Post by steevc »

The H4 and various other hand-held recorders come with a tripod mount, but that is not ideal for getting the mics exactly where you need them. Edirol do an adaptor that costs around 18 pounds/dollars, but being a cheapskate I regard that as overpriced for a lump of metal.

At the weekend I found a mini tripod in a Pound shop (where everything costs a Pound!). A quick application of sticky tape and voila!

I had another tripod, but this one had a nice ball+socket joint.

It may be possible to do this more neatly, but it will do the job for now.
