Debian Squeeze 64-bit HowTo in german

Post by Musix »

hi there

i am writing a HowTo in german for Debian Squeeze 64-bit for installing a studio. it´s nearly finished, in my eyes it has beta-status. i´m learning about rt-kernels. this section misses in the documentation, but it has some links through this topic. in debian squeeze you have to patch your kernel by yourself. tricky!

the HowTo describes how to install a "basic studio" with jack, linuxsampler, qsampler, jsampler und gigedit. nearly all installationways are tested (beta).

BUT: the linuxsampler-site is down. you can use this way of building a studio when linuxsampler.org is up!

Gut gemacht! I like it. Maybe we can translate that article and add it to our wiki here. What do you think?

Yes, this is a good idea. I wanted to translate for the official Debian-Wiki (english) so far, but why not for LinuxMusicians, too?

Google does a fairly good job of translating it

http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... Tonstudios

We could use that link from the wiki so you don't have to maintain multiple versions.

the translation is ok but there is one point false at the beginning:

This is an Express installation of a sound studio for a quick howto on Debian 64-bit squeeze in 3 steps
1. Ubuntu reinstall
2. low latency make
3. Install the software.

well, ubuntu is really wrong because you need to install debian! so, what can we do to correct it?

the most sentenses are ok, i´ve read it completely.

Interesting that Google translater Debian > Ubuntu in some contexts. If you put your mouse over the text you see the original text and there's an option to suggest a better translation. I've done that, but it does seem to be using my version yet. Maybe it takes a while to refresh their database.
