This is a much belated reply, but I just stumbled across this post and couldn't help myself. Informative is an epic understatement! I imagine that hundreds, if not thousands of audio enthusiasts first got into Linux because of Dave's fine work. I know this to have been the case with me. Quite nearly every time I researched a Linux-audio-specific question, I found my answer in a Dave Phillips' article. If you haven't read him, make sure to, you won't be disappointed.

For some reason the Linux Journal no longer maintains a complete list of my articles. I've been compiling a someday-it-will-be-complete list, you can view the under-construction results here :

It lacks the latest stuff from this past year, and I'm sure I missed some earlier things too. I've been writing on the topic for LJ since the late 1990s, that's a lot of articles to keep track of.
