24 video tutorials and counting: unfa vlog
Hey!
After a long pause in recording videos I'm back with 7 new videos so far ranging in topics from synthesizing string pad in ZynAddSubFX to making sound effects for a logo animation. I hope to be doing this for a long time and build a big base of great content to learn from.
Here's the playlist for the whole video series: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... RQFPnbSd87
The longest (and most thorough) is over 1 hour-long tutorial about making sounds from scratch for a logo animation using Ardour 5 and ZynAddSubFX:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMrHEoci5Fk
The newest video is a starting guide for JACK:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEduGnD6ZKQ
The most viewed so far is the initial video that shows a rarely known multi-operator modulation feature of ZynAddSubFX that simply blew my socks off:

---
I'm open to suggestions and your requests. Tell me what you like about these videos, and what you don't like. I want to improve and I think you can see the progress when watching this playlist in order already.
BTW: I'm using OBS for video capture, Carla with Calf plugins for live voice processing and Blender for video editing.
See you in the next video!

New video! I synthesize modern-sounding drums using ZynAddSubFX (and Ardour 5).

ZynaddsubFx deserves a good teacher. And that is You!!
I learn a lot from your videos, and your presentation is pleasant.

Nice work Unfa! I'll definitely be linking to some of these videos, they'll be very nice reference points. The modulation capabilities of Zyn kind of reminded me of another video I saw about WaySyn (LMMS) that also has some unexpected, wild modulation features. Great stuff for exploring!
I'm also curious to hear impressions of the Zyn modulation video from people at VSE...

Re: 14 video tutorials and counting: unfa vlog
Two new videos on the list:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y93Jh1UIpys - ZyzAddSubFX formant filter
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNQH2p0KnCY - Helm 0.9.0 release
ams.lv2 + Ingen - I tried Ingen a few times, but it never worked stable enough to complete anything. I wanted to build my own reverb with delays and filters but Ingen just crashed and crashed so much I couldn't do anything. If I can get it to work, I'd certainly dig up the possibilities, as modular stuff is a workflow that unlocks a lot of options for advanced users. There's a new sheriff in town called "Synthpod" (https://open-music-kontrollers.ch/lv2/synthpod/) but it's in beta AFAIK so not ready for production - but looks like it could replace and improve upon the AMS and Ingen idea - also as an Lv2 plugin for easy DAW usage. Seems promising. I didn't see any development in Ingen for many years, so I don't know if it's ever going to fix it's problems - hopefully Synthpod will take the torch and carry on.
