computer hook up

Post by funkmuscle »

Hey guys, I have a laptop and a desktop. The laptop is running Windows as my wife uses it for work plus I have a few apps on there that I need for audio that Linux doesn't have yet..

I want to have them both share the same speaker system and also sync them so that jackd can control things.

do I need to have a mixer, or any switching devices out there like they had for computer monitors?

These may help,

http://trac.jackaudio.org/wiki/WalkThro ... r/NetJack2

http://trac.jackaudio.org/wiki/WalkThro ... /AlsaInOut

section 4 of this http://lac.linuxaudio.org/2009/cdm/Satu ... ohn/22.pdf

a preamp device with enough inputs will help with sharing the speakers.

well, if you use netjack, you will use 1 soundcard for both computers and thus only need to connect one to the speakers
