Linux studios

Post by eikakot »

Hey guys, what do you think about a website listing studios based on Linux? Maybe there is one already? I myself wouldn't go to any non-linux studio to record a song or a cd because I'm a big opensource fan and it would be really helpful to have a list of Linux studios to choose from. I've seen few threads here about linux studios but they are not in one place. So maybe we could make one thread with all of the studios and their info like location, prices, pictures, link to website, etc. I could make a website if there is need for one what do you think?

I started a list on the wiki

http://wiki.linuxmusicians.com/doku.php ... ns#studios

Only one there so far, but that's because I happened to read about it somewhere.

You could add half of ours, but we currently use (arch) linux only for post-production, not for recording. Except for my own private stuff, but that doesn't count.

Happy to add it. What apps are you using?

Mainly Ardour and xjadeo. Just about everything else is handled by the digital mixer.

I run a review site with written and video reviews, and focus mainly on studio distros and software athttp://i2productions.com/lir
