As an added feature, I added the 'linmus' bot, which announces forum posts, wiki updates and new posts on the planet.

Very cool! I am having trouble with the mibbit widget, it simply disconnects me from the server each time I launch it. Is anyone else having this issue?

Thanks for that. #opensourcemusicians seems to be active, and even music related discussion. IRC is not dead

I presume I'm way too 'corrupted' by my use of commercial plugins and DAWs on Linux to go to opensourcemusicians.
