Hi Nathan

I have developed a few command line programs which may be useful for Linux musicians, namely:
- router: an alternative to QMidiRoute which differs between "note on" and "note off" and also provides an extra transformation
- chogen: a program that generates chords from single notes pressed on a MIDI controller or keyboard
- trigger: a utility that allows the user to start a program or command file by pressing a key on a MIDI controller or keyboard

The programs are shareware, and the C++ source code is available as a CodeLite project. 64-bit binaries are also included.
Initially, I would like to upload a PDF file documenting the software, so that anybody who is interested can contact me.

So please let me know how I can publish the PDF file here.

Cheers

Rainer

EDIT: all seemed ok...
if the problem keeps happening let me know, perhaps it's time to disable the new-post-needs-approval thing.
I realize I'm quoting a fairly old message, but it looks like I'm having the same issue: I've written around 4 between posts and replies by now, and I'm still being told they're going to be moderated. Is there anything I may be doing wrong? Thanks!

I think we've upped this to 3-5 posts because spammers were catching up, but there is also something weird going on that prevents some users from being whitelisted. Luckily I know how to manually lift the moderation requirement for them (by removing them from the 'newly registered users' group).

I'm sorry, it's cumbersome, but better than a forum full of spam ;).

No problem at all! Thanks for the clarification, the threshold for minimum number of posts makes sense.

Hi

I'm a 65 years old newbie on Linux.
Live in the north of Sweden

Tested various distros and the only one I got my
Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and Tracktion 7 to operate
with really low latency was Ubuntu Studio.

So that's what I'm using

Here is a small test from yesterday evening

Hi,
On the first post, there is this link:
nathan wrote: Thu Jun 26, 2008 11:25 pmnewbie section
Clicking on it result is:
Page title: “404 Not Found”
Page content: “Not Found
The requested URL /doku.php was not found on this server.”
Could you fix it (in a way or another)?
God bless you.

Thanks for the heads-up! We don't have a linuxmusicians.com wiki anymore, so I have removed the link.

Was it this information https://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/newbies?

Who knows how long they are still online.
I hope that all this does not disappear!

Hello Nathan and everyone else.

My main academic computing interests have been in applying remote sensing and spectral image processing in plant pathology. Over the last few pass-time I started learning to make some of the music I love, using the Ableton Live DAW in OSX on my old Mac Pro cheese-grater.

However, like many people here, I am increasingly sceptical and concerned of the direction Apple, Google and Microsoft and their 'big data' agenda are going. I am currently away from my home for a while and have been configuring my 7 year old Asus Zenbook UX32a laptop run Manjaro KDE, with Bitwig Studio. It was realising that Bitwig was analogous to Ableton and ran natively in Linux which lured me back to have another go at Linux after some 6 years.

So far almost good :| ; but I'll save my thoughts and queries for the right threads.

Years ago I was a Unix programmer (SunOs, Solaris, Digital Unix) and of course I love Linux and Open Source moviment.

I use a very cheap audio interface (a chinese USB not more wide than an USB memory card) and a simple Klon Centauron clone:

Impulse Response convolver <- (KPP TubeAmp LV2 plugin) <- Ardour <- JACK <- ALSA <- LinuxPC <- Klon Centauron clone pedal <- electric guitar

I'm currently involved in a personal project, a sci-fi graphic novel and I'm composing all the music.

See you here!

Thanks to Everyone for Establishing this Forum. I am Both a Novice Linux User as well as a Novice Guitar Player. I am using a Pure Linux PC (That I built Personally) running the LinuxMint 20.1 OS (Based on Ubuntu) and I am trying really hard to get away from WindBloze, so this group is Heart Warming for sure.
I live in a Suburb of Houston, Texas U.S.A. and Born and Raised a Texan. I am an Independent Insurance Agent and Work from my Home Office.
My Hobbies are Motorcycling ( I own a 2016 Honda GoldWing and 07 Honda Shadow Spirit 1100), HAM Radio (General Class License) several UHF/VHF/HF Radios, and a Participating ARES(Amatuer Radio Emergency Services) Member and Guitars (A Fender MiM Strat, a Mim Les Paul and my Newest Addition arriving this Week a Fender MiM Player Series Telecaster) I also own a Fender Mustang IV Amplifier.
I historically used a PRESONUS AudioBox 22VSL Interface but it doesn't seem to want to work well with Linux so I have ordered a Behringer U-Phoria UMC204HD USB Audio Interface in Hopes of it Playing Well with LINUX as read in several Reviews. I will also need a New DAW (Considering REAPER) and hoping I can Learn to use it. I am Also a Super Novice Sound/Audio Person...I Know just about Nothing other than How to get a Recording out of it, I formerly used STUDIO ONE. So it Feels like I am Starting Over (Which Technically I am) but finding this Group Gives Me Great HOPE. I Look forward to Meeting many of You and Interacting on this Forum.
Again, Thanks for Creating this Forum.
