Evening,
After spending half the day on the phone with Image-Line trying to transfer my FL license, I'm even more seriously considering switching to Linux permanently, I'm sure I'll have lots of set-up questions. I am not a complete linux newbie,
I have built and installed many archlinux systems and hackntoshes but am new to the linux music production world,
I'm just getting sick of forking over more money for less and less software...just to run the hardware I already payed for..FL Studio 12, Ableton 9, ect..
I currently run a home studio mixing and mastering for friends and such, and am resolved to finally produce some of my own stuff this year, I figure I'll convert one of my laptops over to one of the Audio Distros and mess with it till it all works, then dump windows of my actual workstation.
Well, thats it for now. Just though an intro would be nice...

Welcome. Great forum here. There is a lot of nice software for audio. I enjoy lmms, zynaddsubfx, amsynth, qtractor, muse, audacity, and many others. My yamaha YPG-235 keyboard works well with all of those I mentioned.
Wonderful talent and ideas on this forum.

Have fun with Linux - and us. My recommendation:
1.) Get your jackd working with your audio interface
2.) Find your favourite DAW
3.) Find your favourite plugins

Catzklawz,
Yes, get Jack figured out and you can forge ahead!
I found this tutorial of making an "Advanced" jackd connection very useful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtO8BVJ0A0o
and this demo might be helpful, too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rW1X3q4fVIk it is a fun look at ZynAddSubFX
Welcome Aboard!
