Yes, a bit of math. (after all, this is backstage, right?)

If you have a child, and your child is (approximately) 1 year old and you are 30. That's a 1/30 ratio.
When your child is 30, you will be 60. That's a 1/2 ratio.
When your child is 60, you will be 90. That's a 2/3 ratio.

So as you and your child grow (and if you could grow for a VERY long time), you would reach a 1/1 ratio.. or the same age!

The sense is that ff you are 40 and the human right activists protest in front of your house you can show them that a 10 year old bride isn't that much to worry about.

It is a simple mathematical formula:
lim { n -> +inf } (x / (x+n)) = 1

If you think about it, it's easy to distinguish a 10-year-old from a 1-year-old. But less easy to distinguish people's ages when they get up in age a bit. (not always difficult, of course, but sometimes it's possible to miss by many years)

Another interesting reflection: Carl Sagan in one of his famous Cosmos episodes, commented that, not only is there always a number greater than (x), but that all numbers are equally far from infinity!
