Mr. Alias and Piz

Post by briandc »

Hi everyone,
anyone know if developer "Insert Piz Here" is still actively developing? I've noticed that the website for Mr. Alias/Pro is inaccessible: ThePiz

Any info appreciated!

Hey Brian,

I don't know if he's still developing, but the link works fine here. Have you left any messages on his forum at KVR ?

Best,

Hi Dave,
not yet, but I don't see any activity there in a while. You say the link works; I only get "permission denied". So yes I guess the website might still be there, just not usable. -And, since there seems to be no place to download Mr. Alias, I was wondering whether to keep my webpage for it available or not..

Also, I haven't been following things at discodsp. Are they still active? The site says he is sick and not available. (The reason I ask is because I've been trying to test out Vertigo but I get lots of xruns, especially when moving knobs on the GUI. Don't know if others have the same problem.. And it seems it hasn't been updated in almost 2 years, so, I don't know who to contact..)

Nice to see. I notice he's made other stuff that would be interesting for linux but available only for windows/mac..
Glad to know he's still got the site going.

Just to be sure, I downloaded the Mr. Alias zipfile yesterday too, it appears to be all there.

That's as much as anyone knows. The site has been closed for quite a while now.

Vertigo is a CPU hitter, definitely. All the discoDSP synths could use an upgrade for multicore support, but alas, nothing is going to happen until/unless George returns.

Thanks everyone. A bit late in getting back here, but everything's well and I'm happy to have obtained a copy of Mr. Alias Pro. A very cool synth addition, it's got a kick to it that many other synths don't have. It definitely has a place!
