Food For Thought?

Post by folderol »

On one of my occasional walks there is a very old oak tree. I was there today.

At sometime in the past, it was blown over and half-uprooted. However, it survived and threw out new growth below the most damaged part. Judging by the size of these branches I'd guess it was the 1987 hurricane that blew it over.

About a couple of years ago it suffered the indignity of another tree falling on top of it, breaking several of these 'new' branches. It survived that too, and again has new growth developing.

If there's a message here, I guess it is:

Life is "unstoppable." :D

And, life takes its own sweet time. (ie. "slow and steady wins the race")
