Mapping musicians

Post by steevc »

A few years back there was a site called Frappr that let you map communities by people adding themselves to a map. That has closed down, but I just find a new alternative just for musicians

http://www.musomap.com/

The interface is nice (using Google Maps) and has some cool features. It uses hashtags to group people. I've put #LinuxMusicians on my profile in case people want to use that. There are lots of possibilities for on-line collaboration, but sometimes you need to meet up in person and then you need to know how close others are.

I was just chatting with the founder (an Australian violinist) and he is open to suggestions for the site. I'm going to try and put some together for him soon.
